When's the last time you went to confession? If your stomach just tightened, push play.
In Part 2 on our Into the Breach series, we cover the three questions he sets out to answer and the first contexts he lays out for them. Then we get practical: how to pray when you don't know how, why doing something hard every day builds you into a man, and why I'm handing you a challenge for this week.
We're going into the archives for now. We're working on a new structure for the show, and I can't wait to share it with you.
*In this episode:*
* Olmsted's three questions: What does it mean to be a Christian man? How does a Catholic man love? Why does fatherhood matter so much?
* Old evangelization vs. the new evangelization, and why faith without deep roots breaks the first time it's challenged
* Don't know how to pray? Start there. Jesus meets you in it
* Using your phone for good instead of the stuff too many men use it for
* Why reverent liturgy brings people back, and what Fr. Dom's maniple has to do with it
* The Church as a field hospital and a battle college: heal, then train
* Make your bed, take the cold shower, skip the snooze. Hard things build virtue
* Men and women are complementary, not competitors
* Why "the war is won" doesn't mean the battles are over
*This week's challenge:* Go to confession. Find your parish's schedule online and go. You'll have a knot in your stomach. Go anyway.
