Most guys have no idea Halloween is actually a Catholic feast. Fr. Dom lays out the real history: All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day form one connected Triduum. These three days are built to turn our eyes toward death, judgment, and heaven, not candy and costumes. The Church didn't borrow the holiday from paganism; she reclaimed it, the same way she's always taken what the world corrupted and pointed it back toward Christ.
The real point underneath all the history: death doesn't break the family. The Church is one body in three parts and all three are still connected, still praying for each other, still fighting for each other. That's why praying for the dead matters. That's why your confirmation saint matters. Nobody in this fight is really gone.
Fr. Dom closes it out with a personal anecdote: the letter from St. Ignatius of Antioch that helped pull him into the Catholic Church in the first place, and a line from St. Teresa of Calcutta to priests that's stuck with him for years: pray this Mass like it's your first, your only, your last.
